Matte definitely gives your spatula a different look and feel, it feels super smooth in your hand! To mattify it I go in with several fine grain sandpaper and finish it off with cutting board oil to seal. In the second photo, you can see the difference between the shiny resin and the matte. Has a smoother appearance than resin.
